Posted 29/8/13. Hi girls. Yesterday morning I got my positive opk now i tested this morning and it's negative. Does tht mean I've already ovulated and I don't need to DTD no more??? I had what I think was ovulation pain yesterday, like a dull pullin sensation in my lower stomach The test picks up the surge so you have about a day before ovulation, as long as you DTD as close to the surge as possible and then a few days after you shouldn't miss it. I got the +ve OPK yesterday morning at 10am - we DTD the night before and that night too. Planning to take another OPK this morning around the same time and gonna keep my. This is my first month using my digital clearblue opk. It is possible to ovulate at anytime of day including night-time. However, I think you are actually asking is why your testing kits are sometimes turning positive in the evening when they are negative in the morning of the same & following day? A typical ovulation kit will measure the amount of LH (Lutenising Hormone) in your urine OPK confusion. I started testing CD8. Cd 8 - Cd 12 neg OPK, either faint line or no sign of a line, I might add Cd 12 was zero sign of any line.. prior days was a faint line, with that said Cd 13 - +OPK at Noon & in evening hours w/ EWCM, cramping then sore nipples by evening. Cd 14 - +OPK less EWCM, slight cramping & sore nipples Cd 15 - +OPK no CM, cramping & sore nipples & at night felt. I'm supposed to start AF in 2 days, but have been using OPK's every day for about a week. Yesterday morning I got an almost positive, and then in the evening a full on negative. If you get a positive OPK in the morning, and a negative OPK at night, what do you track in FF? Background: I hit my peak the previous day with two very positive OPKs. Day two, I had a positive, that was definitely lighter than my first positive I received, followed by a negative in the evening. Day two is what I'm referring to with my question If a person is testing daily in the morning than everyday should be negative only recieving positives on the two days when ovulation occurs. In some cases if the test is sensitive enough than they may catch 4 days My opks were still negative! Lo and behold, they became positive that night. So we bd again. And this morning, opk was again positive, so again we bd. My opks are usually only positive once. Very short window, which is why I test twice a day. But it's been nearly 24 hours now, 3 positive tests. Temp still high this morning, second day being up

What matter solely is when it OPK FIRST turns positive not when it eventually becomes negative. Ovulation happens within12-36 hours after the OPK FIRST becomes positive. What happens afterwards is not important. It could be positive for a day only or for 3-4 days. The length of it being positive doesn't predict when ovulation happens As for the OPK's, I know the box says to test in the afternoon, but I never got a positive OPK in the afternoon, only when I tested in the morning. I don't know if maybe my body metabolizes the LH faster, or if I have really short surges Last night we did the deed, and this morning I had a positive opk. Is last night good enough, or should I be making sure to do it tonight and tomorrow too? no need for tomorrow, but do it tonight. the day before OPK is the best day (which you did), followed by the day of OPK Saturday cd12 - dtd, very nearly pos opk Sunday cd13 - loads of ewcm, back ache, head ache, ovary pain, but negative opk Today cd14 - I think I've had positive opk earlier today, but a negative one just now! back ache, no ewcm at all, load of ovary pains and a heavy feeling down below!
Ok, obsessive me, just took another OPK and it is darker than the one I took early this a.m., it is almost dark enough to consider it positive. So I'll take another this evening, maybe it's all going to be fine (big sigh) and tonight's the night..... I think 3-18 is 12 days for me, or close, so it will be for you too Once you have a positive result in the morning, test again in 6 hours to verify an LH surge After the first positive result, ovulation usually happens within the next 48 hours. That being said some women will get positive OPK results in the morning - you are free to test in the morning, but if you do I would not make it your only testing time of the day Faint positive at night negative in the morning. Miscalculating the length of your menstrual cycle is a simple reason as to why your test results are coming back negative. Many people assume that their cycle is 28 days long because that is the average. Nevertheless, a normal cycle can range anywhere from 21 to 35 days for adults and a 21 to 45.
A: Unlike home pregnancy tests where a line in the result window indicates a positive, OPKs are only positive if the test result line in the same color or darker than the reference line.
